FON:CRM - best practice
"When I tried to sign up for my free router, I got nothing but errors. I tried several times throughout the day, and got nothing but errors. I read on Null's site that many people got the same errors, so I closed the tab in Firefox and went on with my day. I figured the demand was too high and I had simply missed the "10,000 free routers" window. This morning, three days later, I checked my e-mail and had a nice message from FON:
Hi from FON,
We know you tried to order your FREE La Fonera router in celebration of our 1st birthday. There was enormous demand from the United States and the ordering process may have been difficult. We apologize if this was the case for you. We have now fixed any problems and we would like you to try again. Please click the link below to get your FREE La Fonera router. After you click through to the FON store, there is a log in page where you can enter your FON username and password. How frickin' cool is that? Even though I received nothing but error messages with every attempt to sign up, apparently my sign-up form did infact make it to their server. I returned to their site and completed the order for my free router. I should be here in three weeks.
We look forward to welcoming you to the WORLD'S LARGEST WIFI COMMUNITY!"
I am quite impressed that they took the time to follow up with those of us who had a negative experience at their site. This is an example of great customer service that speaks volumes about the type of people behind FON.
