FON & McAfee

A lot people ask me about security. To help answer your questions we've added a security page. To insure we're providing the best possible security we've partnered with the global leader in Intrusion Prevention and Security Risk Management; McAfee.

What will McAfee do with FON besides putting their name on FON web pages and blogs ?

The global leader? Strange, I've yet to hear about McAffee leading somewhere.

And wouldn't an opensource software such as ClamAV (available for *nix, Mac OS X, Windows) be a better candidate for a free and open movement like FON?

PJMDS - FON is working with the experts at McAfee to insure we're maintaining the highest standards of security.

Till - I'm not familiar with ClamAV, if other Foneros want to share their experiences with it I would like to hear about it. You never know where the next solution will come from.

Thanks for answering my question, McAfee is one of the best security software makers and the security should be the priority of FON right now, I'm happy to see that FON is teaming up with the best ;)

regards

McAfee is certainly not one of the best. Their home products are nothing but barely functional bloatware which lag behind even free alternatives such as AVG or Zone Alarm in terms of virus definitions etc.

Any IT expert will tell you to avoid.

Steve,

"FON is working with the experts at McAfee to insure we're maintaining the highest standards of security."

That's pretty weak, wouldn't you agree?
