GSPACE and FON
As some of you have heard we recently purchased Gspace! There’s more at Gigaom.com if you want read about the acquisition. If you’re not familiar with Gspace it’s an extension for Firefox that allows you to use the 2 GB of space that comes with your Gmail account for storage. You can get Gspace free here.

Ok I have tried it and here's my reaction.
1. When ever I login to Gspace I'm logged out of Gmail. Not that great.
2. When I upload a file to Gspace a mail appears in my Gmail inbox containing that file. If I remove the file from Gspace the mail in Gmail is also removed. If I delete the mail in Gmail the file in Gspace also is removed. So I'm not sure I see whats great about Gspace since it is basically the same as sending my self a mail with the file attached.
3. As I understand from your FAQ, if I upload to many files to Gspace in one day there is a chance that my Gmail account will be blocked for 24 hours. That is a BIG problem for me. I use Gmail for all my mail and is totally depended on being able to get access to it, so that is a big no no and it tells me that using Gspace makes Google think that something fraudulent is happening to my Gmail account - not good!
My conclusion is that I dont see the benefit that I get from Gspace. It doesnt let me do anything I cant do just by sending an email to my self, however, it might cause my Gmail account to be blocked - not thank you.
I was a bit surprised by this news. It is quite obvious that Google does not endorse GSpace and one of your main investors is Google. Do they want their money to be spent on software that helps people misuse their service?
This is a tool I already used occasionally.
Question is, while Google is one of the investors in FON, is Gspace now accepted by Google as a legal use of the mailservice?
If not, will Google counter-attack it's own investment (FON) by creation of a seperate GoogleDisk service?
To be honest, I don't see the a viable future nor any direct relation with the FON concept.
Although the experience of people that know how to alter some products originally intended usage, as FON in fact did before, may come in handy ;-)
I clicked on the link to get Gspace and I can't click the download button. It's huge and I can't click it it. I can click Legal issues, Firefox, and Preview, but not DOWNLOAD.
For the last month, Gspace has been real hit and miss. At least 50% of the time it is unable to log into my account. I've about given up on it, just too unreliable.
