Fonera 2.0 Launch!

The Fonera 2.0 will go on sale in Europe on April 21st. It will reach the USA, Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan in May. The promotional price in Europe for the launch will be 49 euros. Other countries pricing will be announced shortly.

Here´s a video explaining some of what the Fonera 2.0 does. The Foneara 2.0 can upload and download while you take your computer somewhere else and it converts 3G to WiFi. It has a number of other features too!

Awesome. Nice integration with websites. Good direction w.r.t. allowing lower power consumption whilst downloading. Clever USB mass storage device usage and impressive compatibility with 3G dongle serving up Wifi, Fantastic, good work!
Questions:
1) Is the Fonera 2.0 compatible with all 3G dongles?
2) If so, is support abstracted away from the particular brand of dongle or does it use a common property of such connections i.e. do the dongles appear as ethernet devices for the purposes of the internet connection?

I wasn't able to locate the answer in the wiki but does this support hooking up external harddrives and then having some secure means of accessing that storage from the outside. I would like to take a netbook with me and then using something like an open wifi or 3G access from it access my data at home. This would be especially useful since these netbook devices have very limited storage.

Just received my long awaited email announcing the launch and it says "Available in the EU, Switzerland and Norway (except UK)."

Is there a date planned for the UK or is it never going to be released here?
