Dear All,

Thanks

How do I buy one, Fonera2.0 is not listed on the Fon Shop for a UK customer. Did somebody forget to update the shop?

why is it not available in the UK? sorry if this has been answered before.

Hi, I will share UK availability as soon as it's finalized!

# 4 | Sent by: Steve Ross – Tuesday, April 21, 2009 (17:49)

Hi, I checked and we have to make some changes before we begin selling the 2.0 in the UK. We don't have a firm date yet.

I don't see it on the US site either. When will that part be up?

Also, are there any plans for an 802.11n version?

# 6 | Sent by: Ian L – Wednesday, April 22, 2009 (04:29)

Liked the idea until I realised the hook-up with BT. Will there be a BT-free option for UK residents?

# 7 | Sent by: dmek – Wednesday, April 22, 2009 (09:39)

So technically the 2.0 is NOT available in Europe as the UK is part of the EU.

Why will you not give an ETA surely it is just a simple shipping cost?

# 8 | Sent by: Keith – Wednesday, April 22, 2009 (20:04)

UK Questions: Details on the UK launch will be shared as soon as they are finalized. I appreciate the interest and I don't want to give you details that may change. We want to make the 2.0 available in the UK as soon as possible.

@Ian L - we hope to launch in the USA in about a month!

@AEM - please check the online shop at https://shop.fon.com if the Fonera 2.0 is not listed then it's not available in your location yet. We're expanding availability as quickly as possible!

I can't wait to get my hands on one of these in the USA - looks great!

Hi,

Has this release fixed the timeout problem, that prevents FON to be used with many Nokia phones, and N810?

(Nokia says, it how FON implements certain power saving feature: If you have a battary saving option on in e.g. N810, the fon router can not be used at all. In many devices you even can not turn this battery saving off, which makes FON router a completely brick with Nokia phones and gadgets).

Thanks,

Vesa

@Vesa - I'll have to check with our developers to see.

I almost bought the old one, not realising that it was sans USB ports. Good job I did a bit of research first.

Any news on this yet? I was thrown by the 'Europe' as clearly, the UK is in Europe.

# 13 | Sent by: Velkro Smaak – Saturday, April 25, 2009 (22:27)

@steve will the UK release be tied to BT. I don't use BT internet but would LOVE a Fon 2.0

# 14 | Sent by: Mike Smith – Sunday, April 26, 2009 (16:25)

@Mike Smith - I can't say for sure yet. As soon as details are finalized I'll post them.

Hi Steve,

If I buy a fonera 2.0 in Germany and get a friend to bring it to the UK. Would it work in the UK? I wrote an email about this two weeks ago to fon support and got no reply!

Best

@Ulio - we still have some work to do to sell the Fonera 2.0 in the UK. Until I get the OK I have to tell you to do this at your own risk. Sorry.

# 17 | Sent by: Steve Ross – Wednesday, May 6, 2009 (02:28)

@fon. I must say this is one of the worst product releases I have ever seen. You release it to certain parts of Europe -which you never made clear on release date.

You fail to tell UK users when or why it is not released..!

If this starts to carry ok I am sure you will start to loose support for what has been a fantasic compaign...

Do you have any updates for us in the uk......!

# 18 | Sent by: Keith – Sunday, May 10, 2009 (10:18)

Keith, I'm sorry you're frustrated and of course we want to release the Fonera 2 in as many places as possible. We're still working towards a UK release but I don't have a firm date yet.

# 19 | Sent by: Steve Ross – Tuesday, May 12, 2009 (01:01)

I was wondering if there is any sort of mailing list which I can subscribe to that will tell me when the Fon 2.0 becomes available in the UK (and if possible very little else, as I wont be interested in things like firmware upgrades until after I have bought a Fon 2.0)?

# 20 | Sent by: Satal Keto – Friday, May 15, 2009 (10:29)

@Satal - we don't have a UK specific mailing list at this time. I'll bring the idea to the team.

# 21 | Sent by: Steve Ross – Friday, May 15, 2009 (10:36)

This looks ideal to control heating in our summerhouse. Do you plan some USB connected digital input/output cards - with a local control key (thus enabling local control without a computer)

# 22 | Sent by: Niels Kristian Jensen – Friday, May 15, 2009 (14:59)

Any reason I cant buy one in Europe and bring it back to the UK? Apart from the power adapter?

# 23 | Sent by: T Hill – Monday, May 18, 2009 (23:51)

Hello.

I´m trying to buy fonera 2.0 in Portugal, but pay-pal can´t validate my Mbnet credit card. Did anyone know why? Is there another payment form?

Thanks.

# 24 | Sent by: MIguel Vieira – Friday, May 22, 2009 (00:36)

@T Hill - I'm sorry but all I can say is we're not selling it in the UK at this time.

@Miguel - not sure why pay pal isn't taking your credit card. I suggest contacting their support area.

# 25 | Sent by: Steve Ross – Friday, May 22, 2009 (01:31)

when will it be available in the usa. It is june now and in april the timeline was in a month.

# 26 | Sent by: pat – Thursday, June 4, 2009 (17:43)

Hi, I'm really glad to see so much enthusiasm over the 2.0 and we're doing our best to expand where it's available. I'm sorry I don't have firm dates for other countries yet.

# 27 | Sent by: Steve Ross – Friday, June 5, 2009 (02:39)

One month on since the last response - any idea of delivery dates for the UK?

It would make the wait easier if you could let us know what the hold up is

# 28 | Sent by: Iangwm – Friday, July 10, 2009 (15:02)

I'm sorry for the delay but don't want to give you a date and have it slip. As soon as we have a firm date I'll post it.

# 29 | Sent by: steve.ross – Tuesday, July 14, 2009 (01:47)

@Nino - we're sold out at the moment but there are more on the way!
