FON Install Manual

The initial routers didn't go out with a setup manual because we were scrambling to ship. But the routers going out from this point on will include this FON Setup Manual. Check it out and let me know what you think.

We now have more than 17,500 Foneros!

Any chance of indicating which router order number you've shipped up to? It'd be nice to know when to expect the router to really arrive.

I'm at around 1200, and I'm assuming the numbering is sequential...

Hey, the manual is cool and it works eactly as described. It took me only some munutes to install the router and the manual made it even easier. good job!

Is it possible to use the FON-Router together only with a DSL-Modem? So that the FON-Router would dial in via the attached DSL-Modem itself with the Internet providers login and password?
In the manual, it looks like you are expected to have an additional router which just doesn't seem to make any sense to me. The routing functionality is why one would buy a Linksys-Router.

Thanks for your answer,

Fabian

The manual star2 says "open the browser and the screen should appear", well it doesn't, isn't there an IP address to enter as well ?

Some comments on the installation manual:

1. Assumes a very simplistic network - many, such as myself, have much more complicated setups - I need to be able to access the Linksys to reestablish security on the non-FON side, but have not been able to. I need instructions on how to. This is complicated by the fact that I already have other Linksys access points, routers, etc. Please advise.
2. Step 2 is not self-evident. It would be to anyone who regularly jumps onto a HotSpot - make it clear that a URL must be entered into the browser to force this screen to appear.

US Users:

The default channel selection is European (14) & there is no mention in the "manual" how to remedy this setting error.

How do I change it to FCC US channel set?
