FONbasic taking some steps. New languages ready for the next release

Hello everybody from the development bunker!

We are working on improving things on the FONbasic and FONadvanced firmwares. This is some of the features we have already implemented in the FONbasic firmware:
- Automatic channel selection: selects the most spare channel
- Improved firewalling: correct the WLAN isolation respect to WAN and LAN and permit the users to disable this isolation.
- All ssids will be forced to be FON_ prefixed
- New languages: Italian, Swedish, Danish, Czech.

We will be announcing more changes soon!

So should I reflash with the new firmware or will it happen automatically?

Is there any talk about just raining down the wifi like radio ? packets are heavier but googles done it in some cities.Fon fits in well here too. With many users, the city itself benefits as a hot city with free internet access.Have you spoken to any cities interested in being the first in spain to be hot by subsidizing foneros? Murcia is very up to date and maybe it would be a great starting place. Subsidize the fon cost for box and or dsl costs. Small cities can become hot and thus really cool in a fast way..

wierd how we try to get sharing and others dont want it. Any ideas on talking to cities about using fon in order to become hotspot cities? Its a great way for towns to go one up on bigger cities too. Get local people to be foneros instead of having the city wait fo telefonica or pay outwrite for antennas, a big cost...Anyone in fon talking to alcaldes?

For me as a non tekki it would be helpful to get some considerations on how to protect my personal network with the settings integrated in fon. I have connected the fon router to my basic router which is a mixture of router and dsl modem (fritz box fon).
It would be good to integrate this section in the manual.

The feature list looks very promising! Thanks!
When will the new version be released? Is it available already?

How come there is no Africa in on the map of FON sites, and what can we do to change that? Sorry if this is OT but couldn't find a more appropriate place to post it.
