FONbasic Translations
Do you want to see FONbasic firmware in your language? Well, it's up to you!
Currently we have the full firmware translated into: English, Spanish, French, German, Swedish, Danish and Italian. The main reason is that we found people that kindly accepted to translate it into this languages.
We have partial translations in: Estonian, Czech and Polish. This ones only require the fon.txt file (shown below) to be translated.
What do you have to do?
Basically what you have to do is to save the 2 texts below in 2 different files named common.txt and fon.txt. Then replace the texts of the second column (that ones after the '=>' characters) with your translation. Once you're done, send it back to me to iurgi -at- fon.es

Splash_head1 => Why am I seeing this Management Console instead of the FON HotSpot Access Portal?
Splash_head2 => It looks like your FON HotSpot was not able to configure itself to your home network settings. This can be due to many different reasons:
Scenario => Scenario
Splash_scenario1 => The FON HotSpot was on long before you connected the network cable. It is very important that the network is connected before turning on the FON HotSpot. Otherwise the internal auto-configuration process may fail.
Solution => Solution
Splash_solution1 => Try to unplug the power cable and then plug it back in.
Splash_scenario2 => One of the network cables is not properly connected.
Splash_solution2 => Please, make sure that your FON HotSpot is connected as shown in the installation manual provided with your router (step 1)
Splash_scenario3 => Your Internet connection is temporally not working and the FON HotSpot could not auto-configure its settings.
Splash_solution3 => Try your usual way of connecting to Internet and if it fails, please contact your ISP.
Splash_scenario4.1 => Your home network requires some manual configuration for the FON HotSpot to work. It means FON HotSpot is unable to automatically detect your network settings.
Splash_scenario4.2 => Your network has been manually set at any moment in the past. That is why FON Hotspot is unable to detect its configuration.
Splash_solution4.1 => You need to find out a valid IP address which is not being used by any other computer in your network and configure manually your FON Hotspot.
Splash_solution4.2 => To do so, please check step by step the Installation Troubleshooting Reference Manual.
Splash_solution4.3 => If you were already aware you are using static IP configuration or PPPoE and you know how this works, please click on the "I want to configure my network now" link below and you will be redirected to the FON HotSpot Internet connection configuration web page (WAN configuration). Before you can make any changes, you will be required to set a security password for your FON HotSpot. This password is not related to you FON username or account, it is just a security password to prevent unwanted users to miss configure your FON HotSpot.

Hi all,
I just wnted to thank all of the contributors for their fast replies and their effort. We still accept translations (Olli, yours will be very welcome), but let me thank the following foneros in advance:
- Evert Maurer and Christophe Daeninck for the Dutch
- Ronaldo Vasconcellos and Ruben ZevallosJr. for the Brazilian Portuguese
- Giorgio Zarrelli for the Italian
- William, our French fonero leader for the French translation
- Tomas Krag for the Danish
Thank you all!!!
Hey Antoin,
10012 don't get paid by FON like u do. I am sure he wants to help the FON movment and he used a smiley so don't be so aggressive towards your members!!
Faith,
Any translations are welcome, of course. If you'd like to see the firware in Turkish, your free to translate it.
Additionaly, I'd like to tell everyone that the translations are not only valid for FON but also for openwrt (http://openwrt.org/). I'm sure they're happy to receive translations to any language.
Please, those who know a little bit of HTML coding, if possible, sumbit your translations with HTML entities. This is, send the texts with é instead of é. This helps a lot the integration.
Thanks!
