FON at the Asia Game Show

FON's presence at the recent four-day Asia Game Show was a resounding success with thousands of people visiting the FON booth. Many gamers were quite interested in the FON concept.

Visitors walked away with free gifts such as FON badges, FON stickers and FON pens. Those who took the time to register as a Fonero were entitled to participate in a lucky draw, which saw over a hundred winners receive free La Fonera WiFi routers in return for signing The Fonero Promise. Other winners received Skype headsets or discount vouchers for La Foneras.

FON Hong Kong welcomes Martin Varsavsky

FON Founder and CEO Martin Varsavsky is in Hong Kong to speak at the 3G World conference as well as the ITU. FON HK had a little suprise for him waiting when he arrived.

We had rigged up a laptop with a 3G/HSDPA card and then bridged the connection to a La Fonera and installed this in the car which was waiting to pick up Martin at the airport.

Here's what Martin had to say about it

Did the FON end over there ? Naah. We had his hotel room at Lan Kwai Fong Hotel FON enabled.

Martin, hope you liked the travel arrangements. Warm welcome to Hong Kong from the FON HK team

A warm welcome to our Japanese colleagues

Yesterday, FON founder Martin Varsavsasky was in Tokyo participating in the launch of FON in Japan. We at FON Hong Kong extend a warm welcome to Junichi Fujimoto, Nina Nikkhou and others in the FON Japan team to the worldwide FON family.

FON Japan is making the La Fonera available for 0 yen via its Japan shop till the 9th of December so readers of this blog are encouraged to tell their friends and family in Japan to avail themselves of this excellent opportunity. Japan is a popular destination for Hong Kong residents travelling there for leisure and business and similarly for Japanese residents Hong Kong is one of their top destinations for travel.

We hope that with wider availablity of FON Hotspots, residents of both countries will enjoy Internet experience in many locations in the respective countries.
